CYFD launches public dashboard with child welfare data

SANTA FE—New Mexicans can now access data on child removals, adoptions, and the state’s child welfare cases through a new public dashboard launched today by the Children, Youth and Families Department.

The interactive platform – built in compliance with Senate Bill 42 – provides insights into child protective services performance metrics. It includes information on children in state custody, removals, adoptions, calls to the Statewide Central Intake (the unit that receives reports of abuse and neglect), cases transferred to tribal jurisdictions, and more. Data will be updated quarterly.

“This dashboard represents a meaningful step forward in our responsibility to share information transparently with the public, while maintaining the privacy and dignity of the children and families we serve,” said Acting CYFD Secretary Valerie Sandoval.

Users can now filter data across a range of child welfare metrics, giving advocates, lawmakers, providers, and the public a shared view of the department’s work.

The dashboard is available here and will continue to evolve as additional data and features are incorporated.
