Offender Treatment and Intervention Programs (Battering Intervention)
The following programs are approved by the New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) to provide Domestic Violence Offender Treatment and Intervention services (DVOTI) (otherwise known as Battering Intervention Programs or BIP) to New Mexico Courts for perpetrators of the Crimes Against Household Members Act (30-3-10) and respondents to the Family Violence Protection Act (40-13- 1). DVOTI programs are available for a referral from CYFD Protective Services or individuals seeking help independently. DVOTI programs are 52 weeks in length, as required by New Mexico Statute, and require the partnership of the Courts or its agents to effectively hold offenders accountable and change perpetrator behavior.
